Moon candles are all about taking some time for yourself. Every aspect of these candles are created with love and intention.
That love and support is available to you. We live in constant chaos,
may this candle be a reminder that you are worthy, you are loved, and you deserve peace and
happiness. My hope is that these candles help you to open up space for yourself,
to deeply love and care for yourself.

What are Moon Candles?
The containers are all thrown individually by hand, by me on the new moon.
Candles are trimmed, burnished, and bisque fired under the waxing crescent and first quarter moon.
Then glazing and firing takes place under the waxing gibbous moon.
On the full moon I pour the candles with 100% soy wax and a color and scent pertaining to that particular full moon.
Candles are scented with essential oils. It is a mellower scent allowing you to burn the candle for longer.
The candles are then set out physically under the light of the full moon to cure and absorb the magical energy. They are also present for all of my own full moon rituals and blessings.
What does the Sparrow Society Moon Candle Subscription entail?
As a member of the Sparrow Society, you will receive a unique, handcrafted moon candle each month. Each shipment will include:
One hand crafted ceramic candle at the size of your choosing
A moon card with information about that months astrology and candle, and the moon in general
A care card for tips on burning the candles
An email with details about that months candles, journal prompts, and some info about that months astrology
Automatically billed directly to your card each month

Caring For Your Candle:
Let the candle melt all the way across the top before blowing out. This is especially important the first time you light your candle. This can take many hours as soy/coconut wax has a very long burn time.
Burning until the melted wax has reached the edge of the container will ensure it burns cleanly out of the container for the remainder of the life of the candle.
After your candle has completely burned, fill the empty candle vessel with boiling water to release any residual wax. Once cooled, wipe clean.
The vessel is food safe, microwave safe, & dishwasher safe. Don’t hesitate to reach out to me via email with any questions!
Wooden wicks are special and beautiful, but they do not behave like cotton wicks. They require a bit more care for optimal performance.
Keep the wick cut short (about 1/8”) and close to the candle wax, which helps it to burn. Before each new burn, gently use your fingers or a wick cutter to remove the extra carbon from the wick.
Make sure the wick is lit all the way across. This might take extra seconds of holding the flame to the wick. Torch lighters work well for this.
