Monthly Moon Candle Subscription
These candles formed out of my desire over 2020 to directly contribute connection, beauty, and love to my community. I make each and every candle consciously, intentionally pouring good energy into every step of the process. I mark my yearly sigil on every box of clay I bring into the studio. I’m very conscious of my own energy while creating them, and then I bless and cleanse every candle before mailing them.
New Moon: Creation
The containers are all thrown individually by hand, by Aby on the new moon. Then the candles are trimmed, burnished, and bisque fired under the waxing crescent and first quarter moon. They are then glazed and fired with a color pertaining to the new moon under the waxing gibbous moon.
Full Moon: Ritual
On the full moon I pour the candles with 100% soy wax and add essential oils to scent them. I choose a scent that pertains to the sign the full moon is in. The candles are then physically set out under the light of the full moon to cure and absorb the magical energy of the full moon. They are also present for all of my own full moon rituals and blessings that I very intentionally do over every candle.

What are Moon Candles?
The containers are all thrown individually by hand, by me on the new moon.

Candles are scented with essential oils. It is a mellower scent allowing you to burn the candle for longer.
The candles are then set out physically under the light of the full moon to cure and absorb the magical energy. They are also present for all of my own full moon rituals and blessings.

As with all work here at Bridgetown Sparrow, every candle is handcrafted. Candles are created from high quality porcelain, and are microwave and dishwasher safe once the candle is done.
A note on wood wicks ~ they are NOT the same at cotton wicks and do NOT behave the same.
Wood wick: Keep short and close to the candle wax, about 1/8” (the wax of the candle helps it to burn) Make sure the wick is lit all the way across. This might take extra seconds of holding the lighter to the wick. As the candle burns down the extra carbon will need to be taken off the wick.
For optimal candle performance, let the candle melt all the way across the top before blowing out. Especially the first time you burn it. This will ensure that the candle burns out of the container as completely as possible.
Carbon will accumulate as the wick burns and will need to be gently broken off as the candle burns down.
The container is food safe, microwave, & dishwasher safe.
