Hello lovely humans. Happy Taurus full moon my dears. I’m particularly tickled with this month's candles. I’ve been sitting on the idea for this two toned colorway for quite some time, and I’ve been waiting for this Libra new moon to bring it to life. My hope is that these candles feel like a comforting hand to hold while we traverse the deep waters of Scorpio season. 

The gift of a Taurus full moon inside a double retrograde is that anything that isn’t real, that isn’t authentic, that isn’t in your highest and best is going to remove itself. This moon is asking you to FEEL not SOLVE. Which is frankly a painful ask for most of us. We are often so goal oriented, trying to get to the finish line. This Taurus full moon is asking us to come back to our bodies, our breath, the room, the ground under our feet. 

A friend shared an idea with me earlier this year, and as the intensity ramps up I’ve come back to it a lot. The idea is that when it comes to moving through our to-do list ( or really anything in life) that there is this general tendency to push through whatever it is, rush to finish it so you can get to the next thing. And then the next etc. 

But what if instead of focusing on getting to the next task, you shifted your focus to simply move through the task you are on. Trusting that you will get to the next task when it is that tasks time. It’s a subtle shift but a powerful one. Instead of feeling that straining, that reaching, that anxiety in your body. It’s giving yourself permission to stay up right, to stay grounded, and to stay present in what you are doing.  And this type of energy is what inspired this month's affirmation:

Things are a lot right now, and realistically that isn’t going to change. But our power lies in finding our own agency, our own rhythm. In today’s society it is powerful to reclaim our timing. To set down the rushing and the anxiety and try to be more present with our tangible, beautiful life. It also allows us to be more accountable to showing up where we need to. 


This full moon is likely calling into question how and where you spend your time and energy. Where are you dropping the ball and you need to hold yourself more accountable?

Where do you need to loosen your grip and trust?

The gift of this full moon is the discernment to figure out what you are holding that is yours, versus what you are holding that was never yours to hold to begin with?

Moon candles are all about taking some time for yourself. Every aspect of these candles are created with love and intention.

What are Moon Candles?

  • The containers are all thrown individually by hand, by me on the new moon.

  • Candles are trimmed, burnished, and bisque fired under the waxing crescent and first quarter moon.

  • Then glazing and firing takes place under the waxing gibbous moon.

  • On the full moon I pour the candles with 100% soy wax and a color and scent pertaining to that particular full moon.

  • Candles are scented with essential oils. It is a mellower scent allowing you to burn the candle for longer.

  • The candles are then set out physically under the light of the full moon to cure and absorb the magical energy. They are also present for all of my own full moon rituals and blessings.

Caring For Your Candle:

Let the candle melt all the way across the top before blowing out. This is especially important the first time you light your candle. This can take many hours as soy/coconut wax has a very long burn time.

Burning until the melted wax has reached the edge of the container will ensure it burns cleanly out of the container for the remainder of the life of the candle.

After your candle has completely burned, fill the empty candle vessel with boiling water to release any residual wax. Once cooled, wipe clean.

The vessel is food safe, microwave safe, & dishwasher safe. Don’t hesitate to reach out to me via email with any questions!

Wooden wicks are special and beautiful, but they do not behave like cotton wicks. They require a bit more care for optimal performance.

Keep the wick cut short (about 1/8”) and close to the candle wax, which helps it to burn. Before each new burn, gently use your fingers or a wick cutter to remove the extra carbon from the wick.

Make sure the wick is lit all the way across. This might take extra seconds of holding the flame to the wick. Torch lighters work well for this.
