Hi friends, I hope this email finds you frolicking through fields of wild flowers and saying fuck it to anything that doesn’t bring you joy! A Scoprio moon is a particularly intense experience. Does anyone else feel like this week was like 6 months long?

Everyone is likely to be having some pretty intense experiences and feelings come up, so remember to give latitude to yourself as well as everyone else, because most likely they are also “in it”

We have just come through Aries season, the true start of the new year. And we are now well into Taurus season. Taurus season can feel like a balm after the intensity of Aries season. And both Taurus season and a Scorpio full moon are trying to draw you into the present moment fully and completely. 

These candles were poured on May day on lunar AND solar beltane (a relatively unusual occurrence for the lunar and solar holiday to land on the same day) and it seemed only right -under what is some of the most amplified astrology of the year- (especially with all planets still direct) to focus that energy on our 

COLLECTIVE POWER

There are SO many more of us out there - people trying to make the world a better place in anyway they can - and we vastly outnumber the evil doers, we must remember this (ideally on a daily basis)

Every action you take towards bettering whatever sphere of influence you have- is laying a board in the bridge towards a new future. A future where all people and animals and the earth itself are cherished and valued and protected. We can do it. One small step at a time. And we must remember our collective power. Be bigger than our fear, and braver that the scare tactics, and just keep taking whatever step we can towards what we know is possible. 

And it IS possible - with our collective power - together.

What are Moon Candles?

  • The containers are all thrown individually by hand, by me on the new moon.

  • Candles are trimmed, burnished, and bisque fired under the waxing crescent and first quarter moon.

  • Then glazing and firing takes place under the waxing gibbous moon.

  • On the full moon I pour the candles with 100% soy wax and a color and scent pertaining to that particular full moon.

  • Candles are scented with essential oils. It is a mellower scent allowing you to burn the candle for longer.

  • The candles are then set out physically under the light of the full moon to cure and absorb the magical energy. They are also present for all of my own full moon rituals and blessings.

What does the Sparrow Society Moon Candle Subscription entail?

Caring For Your Candle:

Let the candle melt all the way across the top before blowing out. This is especially important the first time you light your candle. This can take many hours as soy/coconut wax has a very long burn time.

Burning until the melted wax has reached the edge of the container will ensure it burns cleanly out of the container for the remainder of the life of the candle.

After your candle has completely burned, fill the empty candle vessel with boiling water to release any residual wax. Once cooled, wipe clean.

The vessel is food safe, microwave safe, & dishwasher safe. Don’t hesitate to reach out to me via email with any questions!

Wooden wicks are special and beautiful, but they do not behave like cotton wicks. They require a bit more care for optimal performance.

Keep the wick cut short (about 1/8”) and close to the candle wax, which helps it to burn. Before each new burn, gently use your fingers or a wick cutter to remove the extra carbon from the wick.

Make sure the wick is lit all the way across. This might take extra seconds of holding the flame to the wick. Torch lighters work well for this.
