Firing at Bridgetown Sparrow

Bisque runs to cone 05 and glaze to Cone 6

The kiln is in the very front of the studio so you can back directly in in front of the kiln to unload. No carts or baskets needed.

Work Readiness

Greenware must be bone-dry when dropping off. Unfortunately I do not have the space to store work while it dries at this time. Bisque will be candled for 4 hours as a precaution but this is NOT enough to dry wet greenware. Bisque will be fired to cone 05.

Glaze Fire

Glaze kilns run up to cone 6. There must be absolutely NO glaze on the bottom of your piece. Additional charges will apply to clean glaze from pots before firing. Please provide your own stilts and bead racks if needed and also email Aby prior if this will be needed.

***please do not fire clays or glazes that are unknown to you. If you run a low fire glaze up to cone 6 it will run, fuse your work to the shelf destroying both your piece and the kiln shelf. You will be charged the replacement cost of the shelf.

Please have the following taped to your box when dropping off work:

  • First and last name

  • email

  • phone number

  • bisque or glaze

  • temperature range of your clay body

For whole or custom temperature kilns please email Aby directly to coordinate.

You will be emailed when your work is ready to pick up. Any additional firing fees must be paid before work is picked up.
